The operating costs are the costs of compressed air and liquid CO2. The compressed air costs depend on your compressor or compressed air system. As a rule, these amount to 0.01 to 0.03 euro/m3 in German industry. The liquid CO2 costs depend on your supply contract with a gas supplier. You have to agree the conditions. For example, the liquid CO2 costs can be around 0.50 euro/kg for a liquid CO2 supply with bundles. Consequently, the operating costs are dependent on the exact consumption values of the media. Usually, there are no additional operating costs. In a typical application with the CO2 snow blasting machine SJ-10 with a compressed air volume flow of 1 m3/min at a blasting pressure of 6 bar and a liquid CO2 consumption of 0.2 to 0.3 kg/min, the operating costs amount to 5 to 10 euro/h. With the manual CO2 snow blasting machine SJ-25, the operating costs for compressed air and liquid CO2 are in the range of 20 to 40 euro/h, depending on the application, when used with a CO2 bottle or CO2 bundle, each fitted with a dip tube.
