PaintExpo, 11.-14.03.2008, Karlsruhe / GER
The painting pretreatment of plastic components with CO2 snow blasters is becoming more and more important. Together with The Linde Group we will present our engineering solution for the automotive industry at PaintExpo, the Leading European Trade Fair for Industrial Coating Technology.
If you are interested in visiting our booth 4619 in hall 4 please contact us. We will send you free entry vouchers immediately. CryoSnow will demonstrate the CO2 snow blasting for pretreatment of external and internal automotive parts. The dry, solvent-free and environmentally friendly process can be viewed at the Linde booth. A 6-axes robot from Kawasaki Robotics will be used to demonstrate the process.
Currently, CryoSnow is the only supplier of a technical solution which can be applied to large areas, at short cycle times. This is possible due to the flat nozzle with a blasting width of 100 mm. CO2 snow particles, which have a temperature of -78.5°C and a diameter of between 1 to 100 lm, are propelled at speed by compressed air and blasted on to the surface to be cleaned. Upon impact, these sublimate immediately. The cleaning effect is based on thermal, mechanical and physical processes in the surface micro-area. Quality examinations have confirmed the highest degree of purity, an increase in surface energy and an improved paint adhesion. It removes finger prints, storage and transport related particles as well as production related oil and grease residues.
Compared to power wash installations, CO2 snow blasters offer low investment and operating costs and require little storage space. The only operating materials required are compressed air and liquid C02; power is only necessary for the control. Meanwhile, automotive manufacturers require a pretreatment from their suppliers and have authorized and certified the CryoSnow technology. The reference list includes painting installations operated in cycles as well as continuously.
